The 1st Arrondissement of Paris
Situated in the heart of the City of Paris with splendid hotels, restaurants and many tourist attractions such as Le Louvre and Les Tuileries, both former royal palaces. Tourist spots include Le Louvre, Les Tuileries, Palais Royale, Musée de l'Orangerie, Place Dauphine, Place Vendome, Place des Victoires, Sainte-Chapelle, La Concierge, Eglise ST Eustache. Restaurants and cafes abound. Here are some of the best recommended to us by visitors: Le Grand Vefour, L'Escargot Montorgueil, Cafe Véry, Chez La Vielle and the delightfully named Au Chien Qui Fume (the dog who smokes). Hotels situated in the 1e arrondissement include the Hotel Brighton, Hotel Brittanique, Hotel des Tuileries, Hotel du Cygne and the Hotel Regina. However, the 1e arrondissement does not border the River Seine, however, it is (logically) next to the 2e arrondissement, which does border Paris' river! |
